Tunnel View/Southside Drive - Yosemite National Park (Part 22)

Yosemite National Park is a national park located in California that stretches eastern portions of Tuolumne, Mariposa and Madera counties in the central eastern portion of California and covers around 761,268 acres or 3,080.74 km² of land. Yosemite National Park is best known for its waterfalls, deep valleys, grand meadows, giant sequoias, giant wilderness area, and much more. I, personally, love Yosemite National Park. I think it is very beautiful and is a great place for photographs. I also happen to live in the SF Bay Area which isn't very far from it! I try to make at least 1 trip almost every year to the park. I visited the park several month ago and I am here to show you some of the photos I took in the park as well as some photos I took on the way into the park from the SF Bay Area. These photos will be divided over several blog posts. I hope you enjoy the photos! Also, I have route information recorded using a Canon GP-E2 GPS Receiver. Now let's introduce you to the photos for today. The photos for today was from the 3rd day of my trip. The photos are from Tunnel View and Southside Drive. The photos consists photos of Bridalveil Fall, El Capitan, and Cathedral Rocks.

HDR composition from Tunnel View. On the left is El Capitan. On the right is Bridalveil Fall and Cathedral Rocks. Half Dome is off in the distance which was covered by a lot of clouds when I took this photo. 

A black and white process of the above HDR composition. If I had more time in the park (didn't have to rush home as it was getting late), it would have made a really nice time lapse. At the time I got there, the clouds were rolling in on Tunnel View. There were several photographers set up for time lapse when I got there. Sadly I had to get home that night so I couldn't do a time lapse.

A black and white process of the HDR above. Someone on Google+ actually said it looks almost as good as Ansel Adams's work. :) Best compliment I've gotten so far. 

After those wide angle shots, I switched over to my telephoto lens for closer photos of the different features at Tunnel View. This is a photo of Bridalveil Fall. 

A black and white process of the above photo. I did this to bring out the details of the rock and forest, plus to cut through the haze and fog that was rolling in. 

A noticed some clouds over El Capitan and decided to get a photo of that too. 

Black and white looks pretty well too, so here is a black and white process.

Driving down from Tunnel View to Southside Drive, I stopped for a few photos of El Capitan. This is a sign talking about El Capitan. (I am glad I took a photo of this sign. I've been spelling it El Captain the whole time right now...)
